Discovery: week 1

What We Look For In Acquiring A SaaS Business
We look for solid B2B SaaS businesses with a good team, a product in the market, a good set of customers, and a track record with revenue.
We acquire companies focused on B2B SaaS, SaaS platforms, and vertical SaaS. The software needs to have clear evidence of product/market fit. We look for user metrics so we can see what is working and what is not. A strong software product is a key driver of value creation, as it can secure market share, customer loyalty, and recurring revenue streams.
A great team with a good culture. We look for management teams with a track record, industry expertise, and the ability to execute a strategic vision. Ideally some or all of the team would like to stay in the company to help it grow to the next level, but that is not critical. Some team members may want to be part of the next level, but some simply want a quick exit.
We acquire companies that have a customer base with at least $2 million in annual revenue. It is not critical for companies to be profitable, but we aim to inject capital and bring companies to profitability within 18 months. We look for simple revenue generation, diversified customer bases, and the potential for upselling.
We are somewhat agnostic to the market vertical. We do look for growing markets with opportunity to grow companies into a $100 million or more in valuation. We look for large markets with growth potential, solid trends, and low saturation with expansion potential through product diversification or geographically.
